Use of Info tablets seen to boost health services in Marinduque
QUEZON CITY, June 20 (PIA) — Marinduque is the first province in Mimaropa to receive units of an information support system tablet that will aid local executives in their health services.
This information support system tablet is called e-HATID (electronic Health TABLET for Informed Decision-making) that uses an Electronic Medical Record mobile application where patient records can be encoded and produce reports for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Department of Health (DOH).
The e-HATIDs are under a project called e-HATID LGU funded by the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) in partnership with Ateneo de Manila University.
The tablets were turned over to the province during the recent Science Nation Tour:Agham na Ramdam MIMAROPA leg, a roadshow of the Department of Science and Technology which coincided with the 51st Regional Development Council Meeting held in Bellaroca Island Resort.
PhilHealth’s outpatient packages and claims system were integrated into the e-HATIDs’software.
Data from the tablet is presented in easy to read and real-time charts and graphs.
Another feature of the e-HATID is the mayor-doctor communication system which can help in decision-making as well as in information-sharing. The project is targeting to distribute e-HATID units to 450 local government units by the end of 2015. The e-HATID LGU project is a spin-off from the eHealth Tablet that was piloted in ten sites two years ago. (LP/LBR/PIA4B)
