Another challenge in the post-Yolanda rehabilitation and development is rethinking the design for health facilities in the community level – the BHS and the RHUs. These should be typhoon resilient and can accommodate equipment for emergency response. The experience of Kalahi-CIDSS prove that voices of communities are important in the selection and design of health facilities, community engaged in construction and selection of site, we can build appropriate design and construct based on plans and specifications.
