eHATID LGU conducts training & deployment for TECHNICOM Project in Cagayan de Oro City
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental – The eHealth TABLET for Informed Decision-making of Local Government Units (eHATID LGU) conducted training and deployment for its TECHNICOM project last 26 and 27 February 2019 at the Golden Hat Cafe in Cagayan de Oro. These activities are part of the technology transfer process of eHATID LGU through the Technology Innovation and Commercialization (TECHNICOM) Program of the DOST Technology Adoption and Promotion Institute (TAPI) with support from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD).
The training held on 26 February was for the Justiniano R. Borja General Hospital (JRGBH) and the Cagayan de Oro City Health Insurance Office (CDO CHIO) for the use of the eHATID LGU electronic medical record (EMR) system. The training and deployment conducted are one of the preliminary steps to the commercialization of eHATID LGU through the granting of an exclusive limited license for the use of the EMR. The training was attended by representatives from PhilHealth Region X, JRGBH, CDO CHIO, and Dr. William Bernardo, Department Head of the CHIO. The eHATID team was also able to have a courtesy call with Mayor Oscar Moreno to further explain the eHATID system and the discussions of the partnership.
On the other hand, the training held on 27 February was for the pilot implementation of the eHATID LGU EMR with the eClaims module. The eClaims module was offered in partnership with PhilHealth-accredited service provider Total Transcriptions Solutions, Inc. (TTSI). TTSI was represented by their Program Manager, Mr. Robert Santos. The pilot sites for the implementation of the EMR with the eClaims module will have free use of the software with eClaims for 6 months beginning 1 March 2019. The participating sites, namely RHU Magsaysay in Misamis Oriental, and RHUs from the Unayan District in Lanao del Sur such as RHU Bayang, Binidayan, Calanogas, Pagayawan, and Pualas. The training was attended by representatives from all RHUs, as well as the Municipal Health Officer of Magsaysay Dr. Fortunato Ramonal, Jr. and the Chief Nurse/District Nurse Supervisor of the Unayan District Hospital, Ms. Monisa Salic.
These activities are part of the Technology Innovation and Commercialization (TECHNICOM) program which facilitates the ongoing transition of eHATID EMR to a ‘Software as a Service’ model for public and private health facilities in support of the National eHealth Program (NeHP) of the National Unified Health Research Agenda (NUHRA). The technology transfer process is also mandated by Republic Act No. 10055, also known as the Philippine Technology Transfer Act of 2009.
