Welcome and introductions

Good morning to everyone. Welcome to the 8th eHealth Philippines Online Conference on the topic “Ano ang mga Dapat Ipangamba sa Sakit na Dengue?” In behalf of the Institute of Philippine Culture, Ateneo De Manila University and the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, Department of Science and Technology, we would like to welcome and encourage you to join this online discussion.

The topic for the 8th eHealth Phil Online conference is a sequel to the online discussion we had last year on Tawa-tawa and Dengue. It is also significant that our colleagues at UERMMMC Health Research Institute presented last 14 June 2014 the results of their study on Tawa-tawa for Dengue. We hope they can share that study again in this online conference.

I would also like to take this opportunity to inform our partners and friends that the Institute of Philippine Culture, Ateneo De Manila University has new Director starting in the person of Dr. Marita Concepcion Guevarra. Dr. Francis Gealogo likewise assumes the IPC Associate Director position. I would like to express our appreciation to the our previous IPC Director Dr. Czarina Saloma-Akpedonu and IPC Associate Director Dr Elizabeth Macapagal for their support and guidance to the eHealth Ph project.
