Negros Oriental Provincial Police Director Sr. Supt. Dionardo Carlos has called the attention of business establishments selling liquor to minors on a City Ordinance prohibiting this act.
Carlos conducted night patrols around Dumaguete City at night and expressed surprise upon seeing people drinking liquor along the side of Flores Avenue rather than inside the business establishments there.
Carlos also posted on Facebook that he saw minors drinking liquor with other companions and that an enterprising lady in a multicab was caught selling brandy and beer without the necessary permit.
The police officer said the law against drinking in public open spaces must be implemented to avoid crime due to impaired judgment of people who drink liquor.
Since he assumed as Provincial Police Director, Carlos has been informing the public about the activities of the police through his Facebook page, Amigo Cops. Through FB, people can also ask him questions or report anything.
